Pickleball in North Ryde: Social Sessions, Court Hire and the Ryde Pickleball Tournament

If you've searched "pickleball North Ryde", you're probably after one of three things: a game you can just turn up to, a court you can book around your own week, or a tournament to test yourself in. At Ryde Multisport & Racquet Centre (Tennis World North Ryde), 16-18 Epping Road, the first two run every week across 16 pickleball courts, and we also host the Ryde Pickleball Tournament.

This guide covers when the social sessions run, what court hire costs, how standard and premium courts differ, what gear you need and where the tournament stands right now. Every time and price comes from our own pages as at October 2026, and where something isn't published yet, we say so instead of guessing. Playing tennis too? Our guide to tennis courts in North Ryde compares every program at the centre.

Pickleball at a multi-sport centre

Pickleball is one part of a bigger site. The Ryde Multisport & Racquet Centre has 8 tennis courts, 5 padel courts and 16 pickleball courts, plus basketball, netball and futsal, a kiosk, a pro shop and a Wellness Hub, all on the one Epping Road site. It's an easy trip from Macquarie Park, Meadowbank, Ryde, Gladesville, Putney, West Ryde and Shepherd's Hill.

Of the 16 pickleball courts, 4 are premium courts with dedicated pickleball lines. The others are multi-line courts, listed as standard court hire. To see where each court sits, open the court map before you book. Rates and social times are also on our pickleball page.

1Choose how you want to play

There are three ways to play pickleball here (a weekly social, court hire and the tournament), and each has its own booking path. Pick the closest match below and the finder shows where to start.

Start here: what are you looking for?

Pick an option and we'll show where to start.

A casual game after work

Join the social session on Monday or Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm. It's social play with coaching drills, and you register through Play Pickle. See Step 2.

A court for my own group

Book a standard court online through our Book a Court page. Standard courts are $25 an hour off-peak and $30 at peak, with a minimum booking of 30 minutes. See Step 3.

Dedicated pickleball lines

Choose a premium court. These are our 4 courts with dedicated pickleball lines, at $30 an hour off-peak and $35 at peak. See Step 3.

Something competitive

The Ryde Pickleball Tournament is our competitive pickleball event, with entry through the Sign Me Up button on the tournament page. No new date is listed yet, so call (02) 9888 7466 to ask about the next one. See Step 5.

I've never played

The Monday and Wednesday social includes coaching drills, and paddle and ball hire is $5, so you don't need any gear. No skill level is listed for the social, so if you're brand new, call (02) 9888 7466 and ask which option suits you.

Pickleball for my kids

Pickleball is offered for both children and adults here. Our school holiday camps for ages 4 to 14 include pickleball in the afternoon multi-sport rotation. See the kids and families section below.

Not sure which option fits? Send us a question and the team can help you choose.

2Join a social session

Our pickleball social runs twice a week:

  • Monday: 6:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Wednesday: 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Each session combines social play with coaching drills, so you get some guidance along with your games. Registration is through Play Pickle, the platform we use for pickleball socials: choose your date, press Search to see the available times, then select your time and secure your spot.

What does the social cost? The session price isn't listed on our website, so check it when you register or call us on (02) 9888 7466.

Monday and Wednesday, 6pm to 8pm: save your spot at the next social.

3Book a court

Outside the social sessions, you can hire a pickleball court for your own group. There are two court types:

  • Standard court hire: our multi-line courts.
  • Premium court hire: courts with dedicated pickleball lines.

The price depends on the court type and the time. Off-peak is weekdays from 7am to 5pm. Peak is weekdays from 5pm to 10:30pm, and all weekend.

Court typeOff-peak (weekdays 7am to 5pm)Peak (weekdays 5pm to 10:30pm, all weekend)
Standard (multi-line) court$25 per hour$30 per hour
Premium court (dedicated lines)$30 per hour$35 per hour

Prices correct as at October 2026. The pickleball fee table lists no booking restrictions.

To book, go to our Book a Court page, select a date, press Search to see what's available that day, then choose your time and secure your booking. Courts can be hired for a minimum of 30 minutes. Read the cancellation policy linked on that page before you confirm.

Save $5 an hour: if your group can play on a weekday before 5pm, off-peak rates are $5 an hour lower on both court types.

Courts from $25 an hour: pick a date and see what's free.

4Sort out your gear

You don't need to own a paddle to play. Paddle and ball hire is $5, available at all times with no restrictions, so you can turn up to your first game without buying any equipment.

5Enter the Ryde Pickleball Tournament

For competitive play, the Ryde Pickleball Tournament is our pickleball event at the centre. Entry doesn't go through the court booking system. You enter through the Sign Me Up button on our pickleball tournament page, which takes you to Swish Tournaments.

Check the date before you plan around it: the tournament page still shows the last event, Sunday 29 March, which has passed. No new date and no regular monthly schedule have been published yet. Call (02) 9888 7466 to ask about the next tournament, or check the tournament page for updates.

The tournament page doesn't list entry fees, divisions or prizes, so ask about those when you call. In the meantime, the Monday and Wednesday socials and court hire are a good way to get regular games in.

Keen to compete? Ask the team about the next tournament date, entry fees and divisions.
